LAUNCHING A BUSINESS IN A TOUGH CLIMATE

Are you thinking of launching a business, but having second thoughts because of the tough economic climate? Don’t let a little thing like that stop you – launching a business in a tough climate can be a great opportunity! We launched next level Recruitment in February 2020 and whilst we'd never envisioned that during our first years of trading we'd be dealing with a global pandemic and heading towards a recession (or having a new Prime Minister every few weeks), we don't regret launching the business at all!

Here’s why:

1. You can stand out.

With fewer businesses launching or continuing to trade in a tough climate, you can out from the competition. Whilst our competitors were furloughed and understandably stressing about their futures, we were hugely visible on social channels and talked to our candidates and clients regularly. We weren't selling, we were just listening and supporting everyone until the market came back to life, giving advice and reassurance every step of the way and everyone supported us as a new business venture and appreciated our honesty. As we head into a tougher economic climate and cost of living crisis, we're doing exactly the same now and adding value to every interaction we have.

2. You can get creative.

A tough climate can force you to get creative and make you think of ways to do things differently than your competition and stand out from the crowd. We launched our innovative and market leading Talent Hub in the midst of covid, and our agency roster to promote our amazing network of agencies to a wider audience. Two initiatives we may never had time to think of in a "normal" market.

3. You can be agile.

Being agile can help you quickly adapt to changing market conditions and this can help you stay ahead of the competition and remain profitable. Being a smaller business we were able to adapt to what the markets needed rather than any preconceived ideas we may have had and ensure that our offering was exactly what was needed.

4. You can focus on quality.

A tough climate can make it difficult to stay profitable, but focusing on quality can help you stand out from your competitors. Remembering your values and focusing on the long-term gains rather than the short terms wins, can help you to build trust and loyalty with customers, leading to repeat business and increased revenue. Every decision we have made over the last 3 years has been underpinned by our values of honesty, curiosity, and collaboration.

5. You can take advantage of opportunities.

A tough climate can lead to opportunities that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Businesses may be looking to increase efficiencies or review existing processes and suppliers...this can be your opportunity to step into the spotlight and use your entreprenurial and innovative skills to shine!

Launching a business in a tough climate can be challenging, but it can also be amazing....and we've loved every minute of the last 3 years
